Sebastiano Del Piombo (Venezia 1485 - 1547)
An important exhibition on Sebastiano Luciani, known as “del Piombo” - He is a Renaissance painter from Venice, who famously argued with Michelangelo regarding the execution of the Sistine Chapel’s decorations.
Sebastiano Del Piombo is considered probably the only painter capable of being a counterpoint to the work of Raphael. This exhibition is the first Sebastiano del Piombo’s retrospective in Rome, where the artist spent many years. It shows pieces from the very beginning colourful work to darker atmosphere of the mature period.
