Local Restaurants
Walking through Piazza Navona, Campo de’ Fiori, Panthen you can find lots of restaurants and cafés. I have thought of giving you some information on my favourites one. All the places mentioned in this blog are at walking distance from Palazzo Olivia. Here just few, there are many more worthy a visit.
Cul de sac
In piazza Pasquino, just two minutes walk from Palazzo Olivia, is one of the oldest wine bars in Rome. They have been running the restaurant for around 25 years and keep going with the same enthusiasm and passion. They offer a Mediterranean menu with typical dishes from the Roman cuisine and other regions. Try the delicious lonza, cured pork loin, or speck, a northern Italian smoked prosciutto) Large variety of cheeses and salami. The wine list is just impressive. Go early or late, it is always busy.

Armando al Pantheon
On the right side of the Pantheon an old traditional Roman trattoria where quality is a must. Since 1961 the all family has been involved in the restaurant business. Menu with traditional Roman dishes the way they should be prepared and some very interesting ideas from the chef Claudio. Delicious home made desserts. Nice wine list and a lovely attentive service.

Osteria dell’Ingegno
In piazza di Pietra, near the Pantheon, an informal and trendy place with unusual decor. The restaurant is in front of well preserved Roman columns, which at night create a magic atmosphere especially in the Summer when you can eat outdoor. The menu is simple and original the wine list interesting. Friendly staff.

Il Convivio
For a fine dining experience this is the restaurant I would choose. In a small vicolo, a simple door to an elegant, white restaurant. The three Troiani brothers work as a team. Angelo, the chef, only uses the best available products to creat an interesting menu. Massimo and Giuseppe take care of the cellar and service. Hospitality is great. Service is attentive without being overbearing. Food is just gorgeous and the wine list offers the best wine and some ideas to experiment.
